Мақала соңғы жылдары жаңа филогенетикалық тармақтардың анықталуы мен жаңа түрлердің сипатталуына байланысты зерттеушілердің ерекше назарын аударып отырған, жеткілікті деңгейде зерттелмеген Gobio туысының өкілі – сібір теңге балығының қабыршақ жамылғысын зерттеуге арналған. Бұған дейінгі морфологиялық өзгергіштік жөніндегі мәліметтер таксономиялық ревизия жүргізу үшін әлі де жеткіліксіз болып табылады.
